"Pins are not connected" error on svid playback

Okay, i have gotten some divx movies and i am trying to play them, however whenever i try with (winamp|Divx Player|Windows Media Player|etc) it crashes the app or it tells me "the pins are not connected - could not play) I heard about the VLC player and i tried that, and it works fine. Why do my other apps crash? My goal is to play them in XBMC on my xbox, and so far, they do work on my xbox as well! Why is my PC retarded!? Any advice would be appreciated. Maybe i need to cleansweep all my video codecs and install a fresh up-to-date pack? I dont know.

good idea, but better to put only the ones you need one at a time. install the divx codec from here (look in list):
