    VHS/DV/WMV issues

I have quite a tricky question. When I originally converted all my VHS home vids, I transferred through the video cam to Premiere where I then wrote to miniDV tapes after some further editing. I now need to convert these files to WMV for use over Windows Media Centre. I started capturing the DV tapes back to Premiere and then used Media Encoder to convert to WMV.
I am now having second thoughts. My initial thoughts were that this method would be lossless up to the point of WMV conversion. However, I am now wondering if I should re-capture the original VHS tapes to Premiere, as I did originally, but then convert these files directly to WMV, thereby removing the use of the DV tapes. Would this remove any quality loss, or am I correct in thinking that the use of the DV tapes as the source is just as good.
