hi all, i found out today that lovefilm.com are renting blue ray titles such as 'ultraviolet' and 'into the blue' in the uk!
no date has been confirmed yet but you can reserve them!
i think this is a big step forward and is good news for the future.

I'll second what Lt. Columbo has to say, Blue Ray and high def hardware has a very long way to go. Costs have to come way down, and be able to sell it to the customers.

Be a touch wary of Lovefilm, I have just cancelled my account with them due to poor service. They have recently taken over ScreenSelect and Tesco's DVD rentall service and the bottom has dropped out of their service, I had to wait 7 days before they shipped the next film in my que out to me. I had even filled my que with a load of old titles just so that there was something they could send to me. I'm still waiting for a reply to an email I sent to them over two weeks ago, all I get is an automated email saying my custom is important to them and they will respond as soon as they can, no point now I have cancelled.

To be honest I cant see a big future for Blu-Ray Or HD-DVD for a long while yet, it's just way too expensive and I dont think the rental companies will be stocking many titles anytime soon.
