Saw this thread about screenshot comparisons between the DVD and HD DVD versions of Transformers:
The difference in resolution and clarity between DVD and HD DVD isn't really apparent until you put them side by side, and then it feels like there's something wrong with your eyes when you look at the DVD screenshot (screenshot below cut and pasted based on the one originally posted in the thread above by Xylon):
