    Region free Blu ray players?

Are there Bluray standalone players in the market that are region free?

Where I stay in india and often receive Bluray DVDs from friends in US. I think that Asia and US fall under different region codes. How can i see movies without worrying about which part of the world they come from?

Are there firmware undates (official or unofficial) that will make a sony or pioneer Bluray player region free?

Can a PS3 be made region free?

I am not talking about blueray drives for Pcs

I'm sure some should be available where you are, just look for the Chinese made ones. A lot of the big retail chains here in Australia sell Chinese made region-free Blu-ray players that they've re-branded, so they are out there.

There are also hardware DIY mod kits for major brands. But region control is much less of a problem since a large percentage of movies these are region-free (almost all Warner Bros., Paramount, Universal titles from the US, for a start), so if you already have a brand name player, it's probably best to just keep it unmodified, and then buy a cheap region-free Blu-ray for the movies that are region locked (Fox, Sony ...).
