Stand Alone BlueRay DVD Recorder ?

Does anyone know if there is a BlueRay Dvd Recorder in the future ? It seems like DVD Recorders are getting hard to find in places like Target and WalMart, does anyone know if a BlueRay Recorder is planned for this year ?

There are Blu-ray recorders out on the market (notably from Panasonic), but probably not in the US. It's the same situation with DVD recorders, since there are about a billion different models here in Australia (and elsewhere), but there's hardly any in the US (although that's improved now, compared to before). I don't know the exact reason for this, it could be because there's no demand (thanks to the popularity of TiVo), or it may be due to copyright reasons (studios don't want people recording stuff).

Searching Amazon, there still seems to be a few DVD recorder for sale, so you can try there. There seems to be some JVC Blu-ray recorders for sale there too, but they seem to be professional models, not consumer models.

Thanks for your reply. I will look at Amazon and also a little more on the internet. I have seen a couple of DVD Records at a Sears Store as demo for show, but none in stock.
