I've noticed some movies like Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter while the picture for the most part looks great they still look rather grainy, especially in nighttime or dark scenes. Is this just how it is supposed to look or are my settings wrong?
It really depends on the film/transfer. I would say it's probably intentional, and that the film grain was always there, except that it just wasn't able to be shown properly in SD.
