Some weird problems with a new computer

try a different pci slot, preferably not the top one, similar problems with a 300$ old soundblaster,
when we got the xp drivers, we never could get the durn extra features to work either

Did you ever succeed with the old soundblaster card?

Nowadays, I can get a card with optical jacks for about $50, so it's not a huge deal, but back when I bought mine originally, it was high $$$ too.

never could get the durn extra's working right, bunch of connections/inputs
fitting in a 5 in bay, of course the dude lost the manual, ended up with a functional SB live tho.

kinda funny, with 6 mini jacks on the back of my mobo and one of those funny looking ones,
I use audio out only.
