I am gonna wait, the LG 4167 is a good burner but won't scan,
for burning only it would compliment the nec 3550.
One of the purposes of a 2nd burner is different reading speeds,
the LG and Benq's are slower than the nec 3550, which can be useful
when ripping older disks, and one burner might like one media better
than the other.

What wont it scan ? But i do follow you about the difference in reading speeds The hP 300 N reads alot slower then the hp 630i and can read some dvd's that the 630i cant.

I might have cheated it was a single layer movie and i burned with img burn.
ps does this look right for the divice manager for the x2 now?
Before i uninstalled and reinstalled it looked like this
-nvidia nforce4 parallel ata controller
-nvidia nforce4 serial ata controller
-nvidia nforce4 serial ata controller

i would uninstall the last two nf4 serial ata controller and restart hoping xp will install only ONE (not two) afterwards

I hate to speak for uncasms, especially on his own motherboard, but I would
assume what he said still applies to the dual serial entries.

Yea, thanks chewy, all i know is that i have two sata hard drive's and when i go into the divice manager and open both of the serial drives under primary channel i see this. one has a entry and the other dont? I really hope it dont matter i thought i was getting so close

Do you know why under primary ide advanced settings i dont have ultra dma mode 5 ? It is ultra dma mode 2.

Isn't your burner on that ide?
ultra dma 2 is 33MB/s about 24x DVD burning speed
all my burners are ultra dma 2
and if they know what's good for them
