out of memory- DVD shrink 3.2.0.14

Using DVD shrink v 3.2.0.14 for two years no major
problems then a series of slowdowns and now after several adjustments...

the buffer fills up during encoding (shrinking)
an ISO file from DVD Decrypter,
with buffer getting to about 1300MB

and DVD Shrink crashes after 25% processing, the message says:

    " Out of Memory,
Paging file is too small for operation to complete."

and now since I upped page file:
    out of memory:
not enough storage available to process the command.

I tune up regularly. defragging and the like using Compu-RX...

have norton AV 2005 and usually disable it when encoding.

    MY External HDD receives consistently
only about 65MB of the encoded file.
(tried six times and the DVD Shrink fails!)

Previously, was successfully using Windows XP Home SP 2 with DVD shrink on 250GB External USB 2.0 HDD.
Both Unshrunk ISO and shrunk ISO files went to same 250 GB HDD.

I Unclicked the indexing (t speed up slowdown problem)
for memory and installed a memory software to help with memory management,

upped the virtual memory to 1500mb min and 3000mb max,

but problem may be DVD Shrink not windows.

The bufffer doesn't seem to transfer files...

    Please give detailed assistance.

You say usually does that mean you don't do it all the time?

This would be re: the second error.

The version I use is 3.2.0.15

just try a test and shrink to the laptop hard drive from the external and see how that works.

I tried it both ways with and without NAV, and the problem continues.. as well as sending shrnk ISO file to laptop from the dvd decrypted ISO which is on my External HDD.

Am considering completely uninstalling my OS and formatting my HDD and reinstalling all programs ... a tedious job to say the least.

But with my 250 GB HDD backup is noty a major issue
(local HDD is only 40 GB)
I am concerned I have too much junk on my system and what with all the new settings in memory and the like, well, I think getting back to basics is a good way to go..

        Thoughts?

usually the safest and best approach

how long does it take to move a dvd sized file from one drive to the other?

slightly offtopic, but why are you not using the latest version which would be 32016?

sorry, got a little mixed up with the version numbers

there actually is a 32016 but that's the version, which i had asked dvdshrink for quite some time ago to overcome some legal issues we faced in germany:

                    Hi UncasMS,

Please excuse the delay in reply, I was away for a while.

I attached a CSS-Free version of DVD Shrink 3.2.0.16, which you may do with
as you see fit (check the attached readme file).

Let me know if any problems. I put it together rather quickly, and due to a
lack of non-CSS protected DVDs, I was only able to test by verifying that it
can open a previous DVD Shrink backup. I don't know how it will behave if
AnyDVD or other such decrypting software is installed.

                    Best regards,
                    dvdshrink
in other words the latest fully functional version should rather be 32015 and not 016 (which had the deccs module removed)

here is a link to the original english version of 32016, which dvdshrink had sent me:

Sorry all I was referring to DVD Shrink 3.2.0.15 where all my problems are.

Still the buffer bloats and crashes at about 1,300MB.

How often should the buffered file be going to teh asigned ISO file to minimize the bloating of the buffering?

Is there a 'switch' in DVD Shrink will get the encoded ISO file to move from the buffer the assigned ISO file?

At what point should the buffer offload the buffered file?
