The fans are the ones that came installed in the case already when i bought it so maybe that could be it and the case is actually under the desk on a self so maybe I will try and move it on the desk or something and see if it gets better air flow up there. Sometimes people take them the other way, the maddog firmware is often just as good or better, my 3520 flashed over was fine, but I couldn't scan with cdspeed?

I just want to save my philip/benq to scan, with the sony lighton is out of control and plex716 take two more months to get here ( so I cancel it), I am looking something new so I can work on and make it a new learning tool , Sam sell less then 100$.

why external? If you want a real project get a special case that will do
almost 16x on usb2, I like the LG's for just burning. And the nec 3550
can be a good burner.
