is Pinnacle Studio Mediasuite a good program ?

Im looking at getting Pinnacle Studio Mediasuite. Is this a good one for an absolute beginner ?

I am not sure about Mediasuite, but I like Ulead Video Studio a lot, and it's easy to use. You can always get a free trial!

Yeah.Ulead is great.But u can also try Cyberlink Power Director.It is even easier.I had used Pinnacle Studio 9(not Mediasuite).It was easy for beginners but was very heavy on the CPU.Cyberlink is much lighter.

and why to get media suite. there r better ways to do same.

and yes video studio is one of the best. power director is good too and i think they fixed svrt in newer version it was messedup in previous version.

They did!!!And it is one of the GREAT features of PD.

its been there since ver 3 i guess, but after that somthing happend to it and it stoped working correctly, even i write to support and they keep tekllin me its working fine and in 2 weeks they made a patch for it funny, still doesnt worked.

actually thats when i shifted to video studio and then never looked back.

Ok, I better explain myself... I am an absolute beginner who has put out an album and now wants to make music videos for the album. I need a program thats not to difficult to learn from scratch, but is also good enough to make music vids on. Im not talking proffesional quality, Im just talking about the basics with a bit of flexabilty and some reasonable effects, filters etc. I already have Movixone 4.0, which I have yet to learn to use, for free but I dont mind paying for one as long as its not TOO expensive. What do you guys think I should look at ( I have already made notes on the advice Ive been given so far )
Remember though, I will be starting from scratch on this program so it cant be too complicated or my brain will go blank and I will stare vacantly at the screen until my wife finds me and turns it off ( going by recent experience )
Also, I really find an actual physical manual really helpful, if I have to change the screen continualy between the online manual and the screen Im trying to learn, I keep forgeting what Ive just read

Final Verdict:Go for Cyberlink Power Director.Then,when u r a a bit more confident,try Ulead Video Studio.

Ive been just given Adobe Premier Elements ( I think its 1.0 ) free . Is this the particular one you said was NOT for beginners? Also, is that Ulead one everyone is saying is good Ulead VideoStudio 8 ? I couldnt seem to download the free trial for Power Director so I have yet to check that one out.

Ulead's latest version is 9.Adobe Premier Elements is,I think,easier than Adobe Premier.

Thanks GC2, I just checked out those reviews and they confirmed what Paglamon said, Cyberlink Power Director or Ulead Video Suite seem to be the way to go. From the advice I have gotten here, and on the strength of those reviews, Im leaning toward Cyberlink Power Director 5. Just a few more questions:

CPD 5 review mentioned that EZ Producer, CPD 5s menu and burning program, is seperate from CPD 5. Does this mean that after installing CPD 5 I then have to go out and buy EZ Producer before I have a menu and the ability to burn my movies to disk ?

The reviews talk about a selection of backround music avaliable for movies. But as I am planning to do music videos for my album, I want to use my own music. Is this possible ?

I already have Adobe Premier Elements installed. Before I go spending anymore money, how much better is CPD 5 than Adobe Premier Elements. I have been told by a friend to work with the Premier now and once I get the hang of it, get CPD 5. But the videos I make I figure I may as well begin with the better program from the start, or the videos I make now will be limited by the program I use.
