    CAUTION with Windows Defender

This Beta2 of Microsoft Antispyware is not ready for the public domain.
Microsoft has let loose a BUGGY piece of software on the user.
It may eventually be as good as the Beta1, but right now you should pass on it.
It will not update, nor will it show you the current loaded update.
Use with CAUTION if you must. MS needs to do a little more homework
    before releasing something like this.
    Just my Opinion....G

It also clashes with the Symantec AV and mistakes a definition as a spyware

after seeing what the new nortons security suite can do to a computer and having spybot/teatimer hose some of my setups, I have given up on active protection, just keep my tin foil on when I surf!

Is it even installed on the systems at work still Big Z??
I removed it from my PC a few weeks ago, it was causing my setup to hang on shutdown.

It's on some still. I'll likely yank it off them when I have chance to do so.

Any word if this impacts 7 or not?? I know I have messenger 7.5, and maybe it's just in my head, but now that you mention it burning does seem slower. But as I dont usually sit and watch the machine do its thang I may be mistaken.

                          NightBladeXX,
Have you been able to get the program to update?
If so, how can you find the current update version number?
                          Just curious.....G

I had problems updating it, using the windows update tool. Just on the express, I used the custom? option and it worked fine. Sometimes it wouldn't take that and did it manually thru the defender page
