    DVD Shrink Keeps Closing Down

    I downloaded DVD Shrink

I put the disc into the drive and open it and it goes through the analysis

I then select backup - it starts the process but after about 20%, my laptop turns itself off

can anyone suggest what I can do?

    I am using Windows XP
    thanks, C

if it is a laptop you are using it may be over heating.

Like photo_angel said, your laptop is probably over heating. DVD Shrink is very CPU intensive.

Try using a cooling pad for your laptop while you run DVD Shrink. You can get one <a href="http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.asp?Submit=ENE&N=2030260319&Subcategor y=319&description=&srchInDesc=cooling&minPrice=&ma xPrice=" target="_blank">here</a>.

Use the "portable/laptop" power scheme in your power saving properties to ensure that the processor remains cool and I hope your laptop battery is charged enough

This may same stupid, but it happen to me.

Under the power management under desktop properties, I had my computer set to turn off after 1 hour of non-use.

That was why I had the same problem as you.
