Trying to back up Outlook, the "original", not Express. Is it easier to do it sonic's way or to use Intellimover? Or does the Picobackup and/or Outlook Express backup work with plain old Outlook?

I've got more than 1,400,000 KB of data and contacts, and its too much to save on a CD. Thanks!

Sounds like time to do a little cleaning, filing etc. I wouldn't want to bloat anything down with that much data. Assuming a lot of it is pictures, I would save them seperately.

This is why I keep a data partition or extra hard drive for data and back up to other computers or
      cd-r.

the value of that outlook folder must be worth thousands, act appropriately

time to fix his dvd burner or buy an external hard drive

Its his work laptop. He needs the info b/c he's moving to a new hotel. There's a long story to go with this but we aren't doing anything funny.

get the external drive if he's going to continue using laptops, optical media is not that reliable especially if burned with a laptop burner

Okay, thanks. Do you think Intellimover would work?

I would do it everyway just in case, and then test on a home computer

That would allow me to transfer the data onto my pc, and when he gets a new pc for the new hotel, I could just transfer it back.
