everest sensor readings will give the voltage rails
    Voltage Values:
    CPU Core 1.62 V
    +3.3 V 3.30 V
    +5 V 5.05 V
    +12 V 11.78 V
    DIMM 2.59 V
    AGP 1.49 V
as you can see everything is close to it's right value, my 12 volt is a little weak, but this PSU is a cheapo, the power rating and amps are usually on a sticker on the side of the actual power supply

I actually repaired power supplies until they got cheap (Or I got expensive!) but I found that Voltage is sometimes referenced on different grounds. Joining up two identical power supplies would probably be O.K. but I would never do it with different makes as you don't know the ground reference points, and there could be phase problems. I would seriously recomend geting a 650Watt unit then you wouldn't have to worry about upgrading. It would take up less space too. Get one with dual fans.

yes I was thinking of using a power supply I have laying around to power additional HDD's
should be working without a problem

i used 2 psu once when i needed to temporarily connect more device than one psu had enough molex connectors for

i put another psu next to the machine in question and powered some of the hdd + dvd burner with the additional psu
(though i think i had the other psu still connected to a mainboard and only used some power connectors)

if i were you, i'd try the 350w psu without a second one though
        4 drives + 1500xp + 128mb vga wont be a problem for a normal/decent psu

i have had 6 hdd + 2 dvd drives + 2000xp/or 700duron on a psu with less wattage in one of my machines

Thanks for the replies ! I'll open up the box and make sure how big the PSU have is.

@UncasMS - I was thinking of adding maybe up to a total of 8 more HDD's on the 2 PCI cards I have for a total of ten HDD and 2 DVD drives. I don't game so the video card I have now should be good.

If all that could happen is random shutdown when trying that's ok, I'll try it.
