I kind of like this new driver for the amdX2/64/3800
Pros: ALRIGHT!!! check this out!! I'm running a 3800+ at 2500 mhz 250x10. with 1.4 voltage. This cools it at idle after running memtest+prime at same time to 32. MAX WAS 46!!!!!! after an hour of 100% dual core cpu usage! AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!! =D and ofcourse a rice grain of arvtic silver 5 =) actually it just dropped to 31 while writing this!

what is that for a statement?

      before: 46
      now: 32

total nonsense; either no c&q before or a crappy setup
you dont expect a c&q driver to drop the temp by 14° do you??

that was a personal joke for anony about his hot cpu
here's the driver that would drop cpu temp 14C

translated means use hardware not software to keep cool and quiet

it was running 46-47 after my case & cooling upgrade (on mildly hot day). since then i've applied better thermal compound & bought a new desk, the compartment has much needed ventilation

not so hot today, maybe 26c

My buddy picked up one refurbed, he asked me to mount it, I held it up where it would go, saw it would hit the power supply, you have to bolt a large
plate to back of motherboard, they are huge/heavy monsters. It's been looking at him for 6 months now, very expensive paper weight!

Have these drivers actually made a difference? I am still using the previous ones.

no, that's exactly the reason why i posted in this thread as some "statements" were quite misleading

Then I will stick with the other version unless something changes.
