create a winrar archive, can split files to fit media. freeware 7-zip should be able to do the same thing

Ok I called one of my friends and he said that it installed another version of Windows XP onto the other one. That is why it took up so much room on my hard drive.

So basically I am out of luck with getting my stuff back!
I just have to move on and back up my stuff.

In a couple of days, you will be able to backup using ImgBurn. This includes incremental backups. This is soooooo handy. I have done a main backup and every other day an incremental (I backup to RICHOJPN +RWs). At the end of the month, I'll clear the archive bits (ImgBurn will do this for you) and do another full backup.

ImgBurn allows you to easily create "backup projects". It is a beautiful thing.

              1. in 24-48 hours(2 weeks ago)
              2. after the weekend
              that was last weekend
this isn't going to be any 1 meg download and you have to appreciate the dedication to making it right before it's released, unlike nero?

Yes it is great to hear, since everyday (for a few weeks now) I look forward to coming home and finding that it is out. I have no idea what I will look forward to when it is released, but I will be happy at that moment.

But I am glad that all the precision and testing is being put into the program, I know it will be wonderful and have great features. Man, I am excited.

I've been using Nero Back it Up to back up my stuff on a regular basis now. I learned a lesson last go around.

                    @mattcharles,
System restore wasn't even an option for me, couldn't hurt anything to try I would think. Sorry to hear it's not going well.

thanx smkymntgrl and everyone else helping me!

I am talking about to the restore date of the 25th. I cannot go back the 24th, I tried already!

It's like my computer started at the 25th so it wont let me go back to the 24th. My old computer has a hard drive in it, can I put that one in as well and try using the programs to save to the other hard drive?

Thanks guys. I just have a lot of stuff to back up. I'll try Imgburn when it's ready. I like the idea of incremental back ups. That means you only back up the new stuff, NO?

get it to a pc specialist that specializes in data recovery, with the tools out there ive been told that it is very hard to actually erase all the data. That usually they get stuff back.

i wasnt here so missed ur post. here what u should do,,....... first add second harddisk, purchace it or get frm a friend. boot frm that harddisk, install this program and let it scan ur harddisk, it will take a lot of time. but at the end u will get a lot of recovered files, now u have to search for ur stuff. it should work for u say 70 to 90 %. it took me 4, 5 hrs to scan my 180 gb and recover my 80 gb of stuff frm it after i accidentallyformated it.

software name is Restorer2000_Pro_v2.0 u have to install it on other harddisk then urs.
Seems like as soon you buy somehing, v. 2 comes out 1.5 times as fast!..!
