@ jm1647 Can't skip forward or back, menus flash on screen for less than a second & movie starts automatically. I used a full dvd ISO to test & it looks like it has to play through in order.

When I open VOB files within the ISO, Nero Show Time opens. If I open ISO with MPC, it does not allow you to open individual VOB files. No sound past main menu.CJ

@soup, jm1647, benbryant, anonymez, (okay everyone)
Loaded the exact version and source that benbryant recommended (although it seems to be the one I had??)
The computer that I have some old Nero Express that came with a drive on DID open the file.
I was really looking for the menu but it may have been too small (file size & duration) to show up (must have but not visibly to me do to probable speed). The movie started fine with audio. Had some control over MPC but almost none over the playing of the file.
Pause/stop worked and yes I DID have complete audio. This at least shows the title is working to the degree possible.
Loaded benbryant's suggested version on the "good computer" that does not have any type of Nero installed. Did not open -same error as always.
Seems like those that get it to work (now me somewhat) have varied but definitely limited degrees of functionality.
Thank you very much to all that had input and ideas. Special thanks to anonymez for deducing the most probable "trigger" - smokin' good work!!Comment

Both of my laptop and desktop can read ISO files readily since they have Nero 6 with them. Just wonder that, as found by anonymez, how can Nero help MPC open ISO files though? by any chance with Nero Image Drive? So if it is, can we install Daemon Tools and be able to open ISO files without installing Nero. I hate uninstalling Nero just to check and to prove it. Hope that any member who hasn't had Nero installed yet tries it with Daemon Tools and let me know the result

I thought you were the resident expert at uninstalling nero?
daemon tools is gonna work without nero, pretty sure, Ben

@gs47
Much mahalo for doing so. Installing or uninstalling Daemon Tools is just as easy as eating a piece of cake. Uninstalling Nero sometimes comes up with incomplete or unsatisfactory result. I used to have Daemon in my PC just for playing games or edit come ISO video files. I want to know the result to be able to assist any member who has no Nero and wants to watch ISO with MPC in the future

Okay - downloaded Daemon and I've never seen it before, used it, etc. Looks like there is no interface, just navigate using the tray icon.
First tried opening an ISO by just having Daemon on the computer with nothing mounted. Checking this just like the Nero seems to have a way of aiding MPC to a certain degree by just being loaded on the computer. Couldn't open, standard can not render file error.
I mounted the image after clumsily looking about and by right clicking the tray icon, etc.
As soon as the ISo mounted, got the autoplay and selected to open with MPC and that worked okay. Didn't mess with it much but the Navigate buttons were functional (none were by just having Nero). It started playing skipping the menu.
I'm sorry that I have no familiarity with this Daemon. Less than an ideal tester but is there something that you would like me to try?Comment

It just did it and played. Spent all of about a minute with this, didn't want to leave benbryant hanging. I'll try different ISOs and some varied functions in MPC and see what I find out. I have 3-4 ISOs on the hard drive right now. It is definitely mor useful/functional than just having Nero.
Remember I'm not a Nero guy either and the version on the other computer is just Nero Express and I'm sure not up to date.
Nero versions must have some shared DLL image driver something-or-other (making stuff up here) or other that MPC picks up on.
It does work though with MPC via Daemon and NO Nero on this box.Comment
