Thanks gs47 for testing and letting me know quickly. Actually playing ISO with MPC is solely for tesing. Pratically we can use Daemon Tools many useful purposes. For example, a gamer can create an ISO image of a video game to PC and then mounts it with Daemon Tools and plays it without inserting the CD or DVD game with faster speed and less memory consumption. Or we can watch the video with different media players, like gs47 just did, without buying Nero if you don't really need it

    Regards

      @soup

      Daemon Tools

and NO to the toolbar. icon and start menu only. Don't know anything about the toolbar and can always add if there's a need...was in a bit of a hurry I suppose.

Used 4.0.3 X86 with SPTD1.25 then it asks for 32bit or 64bit. I have a 64 bit processor but elected for the 32.

Chewy I can't play a .iso file either. I'm watching a movie from disc in my drive but MPC won't open a .iso file. Keeps saying cannot open file. something about not rendering it. I need help. I have ffdshow but that's not for .iso's. Also I extracted MPC to my desktop. Didn't know it was a .exe file. Is that ok too?

I wouldn't touch daemon tools again for any test, but before we found out that the nero
showtime(part of the nero digital) was ?responsible for iso playability

Since I don't fool with iso's any I haven't tested in a couple of years

            MPC is safe

Hi. You mean Nero Showtime plays iso's or can prevent them from playing in another proggie? I don't even know about Daemon tools so that's not a problem. I think I found a way to change the file extension and make it play on MPC.

Forget about this. I couldn't do it. I downloaded VLC. Hopefully that'll work. If not I'll post a new thread.

I don't get you on this unless showtime converts the .iso into some format allowed by MPC. That or some codec. Which I'm new to.

We had this discussion so long ago I don't remember exactly why showtime/or another nero component enables windows to play iso's

All I remember is those w/o nero couldn't play them, those with could

powerdvd and showtime don't play them properly

                      mpc seemed to

VLC does a heck of a job. Just finished "THE FORBIDDEN KINGDOM." Is there a free download of showtime available? I stopped using Nero altogether after being introduced to ImgBurn. They're constantly coming out w/a new program. The one I started w/was 6.4 something.

Made the move to VLC Media Player a while ago, never regretted it. All you need is a little VLC.

VLC does play .iso files. But I noticed a problem. It plays the .iso ok with the default skin. But if I try to play the iso with the Blissta skin the window remains black. Don't know whether other skins have this problem too.

paglamon thnx for the link. Chewy thnx for posting the answer which I didn't catch right away. Thnx to all of you that confirmed what I did. Download VLC and not worry about MPC not playing the iso's.

I'm working on not getting stuck on anything for too long if there's an alternative solution unless there isn't and I have to keep doing research until I solve the issue or find out there isn't no solution.
