I have all my data on the other partition but all those programs would go bye-bye and I don't wanna do that as I don't have the installers for some of those anymore!

What do you mean archive installers... don't you just mean make an image of Windows? What good would that do when I have the CD?

if u have the windows backup cd, instead of puttin it in, rebooting and then boot from cd to clean everything off.
just put the cd in, open it and do the reinstall from there. when i did this all my previous programs were left untouched, but windows had still been installed fresh.

Good catch, mill. However, when I encountered a similar problem, I got - "Cannot delete xxxx file. The file is write protected or currently in use".

Altho, I didn't think of booting into safe mode & deleting it from there - might have worked...

                      Good luck, drf!

While, let's put it this way. I used to have 20 spyware programs, now I have 1 or 2. Why let that work go to waste?

                                format and do like me:
go only in secure places (like here in DD) and forget spywares.
use ghost and do image of your system every week.
stay always with the last 4 images in outside hd or dvd-rw.
doind that you can forget anti-virus,spywares,...porno sites (lol),...(lol again)... etc and your system run faster!!!

                                regards.
