    Image burning?

I just got ImageBurn and have been playing around with burning images of files for back up purposes? I think I've been successful creating the image and then burning it to dvd/cd. But not sure how to open, restore or browse them once they are complete. Is there some other program that is needed to do this? Are there any advantage to saving them as an image as opposed to just "saving as" to a cd/dvd? Ive also tried with Nero7 and I noticed that it doesnt creat a mds? file like Image burn/ Whats up with this?

Imgburn is a buring program. It will be on the disc your burned it to.

If your looking for the files that you used to burn you need to locate the folder the created ISO is on from the program that created it.

Or maybe I am missunderstanding the question here.
