I'm going to put my wifes computer back on line as soon as I can take care of some heat issues.. She has a very hot running video card and I am going to have to install some more fans.
Now I'm really confused....rebooted desktop, shutdown FAH as directed. When I start the program it starts up automatically and recognizes the WU in progress and picks up where it left off but has me listed as anonymous for user name and it won't let me change it to what I use. I've tried killing it in Device Manager so that I can start over with the options but no dice. Any ideas or am I good to go?

loco - if you don't have a shorcut to the console make one. then add to the properties of the shortcut after a space -config then put your name in for the user name and 51205 for the team if it is not there..should be good to go after that
Just lost a day's work, couldn't save it, tried replacing the unit it brought in with the work packet that I saved, missing work files. The reason it gave in going to get a new work packet was missing work files. how can it be half way through a WU & all of a sudden there be missing work files. It just ticks me off. It's working on WU4 & I have only completed one WU with this new SMP client.
Does anybody know if the new windows SMP client can be installed as a service yet? It asks you the question in config but I read on the home page that it can't yet.
i'm not sure if it is possible or not but actually an SMP client needs to run rather 24/7 or otherwise the timeframe runs out and you won't get any points at all
when is see a problem with smp clients i do this:
- enter task manager
- kill fah + mpiexec.exe and all fahcore.exe
- run install from your smp folder
- run fah from your smp folder
