    Hey Chewie

    What is an IDE 80 cable? For some reason all the sudden, I don't have one.

    That would be the 80 pin cable for your hard drive or optical drive. One end going to the ATA133/IDE controler (on motherboard or separate) and the other end having the two 80 pin master and slave connectors.

      Is this something that fails? The computer works fine put on load up (after the drive/memory test in windows based systems) I get a warning this is not detected.

      Should I worry?

        That seems odd, it could be a bad cable, but something shouldnt be working, I would open it up and check all the cables for being loose. Have you looked in error logs to see if there is any more information? right click my computer > manage > system tools > event viewer. Maybe there is more info about the situation.
