Poll: When do you plan to upgrade to Window's vista?

I thought a poll like this would be interesting as many variables have to be considered as a new computer, cost($$$), etc.

Personally, I do not even have plans yet as Windows history has shown early versions of new OS are VERY buggy.

I just want to hear other people's view on this.

not till there is something significantly better about vista (ie performance, convenience and function/compatibility) than linux or xp. i don't care for any of the security features or the UI (the latter can be replicated in xp and both of which can be bettered in linux)

so i'm guessing 1 to 20 years, but you never know

imho these vista delays are a good thing-- means they're learning from their mistakes and hoping to release something more secure & stable

They told me I have at least 13 years of support so I will assess then.

No Vista for me. I am happy as a pig in poop with XP. I'll hang on to XP as long as possible and then decide what to do when I can no longer use it for what I want to do.

How about our favorite programs? DVD Shrink, DVD Decrypter, RipIt4Me, PSLPlugin , DVDFabDecrypter, they work in Windows Vista? Haw anyone tested them in Vista beta versions?
To change to Vista I must know that I won`t have any problems with my programs. For the video work but for photos and other stuff too.
If DVDShrink and DVDDecrypter which are not updated anymore, don`t work well with Vista, how can we change to Vista? For me , DVD Shrink is unique and can not be replaced , even with Recode

I will update when forced to by a new pc or would consider it after much testing and reviewing is done by members here and it gets a stamp of approval from those that know far more than I do.

I am waiting for the XXX company to buy-out Microsoft, since Bill Gates is semi or completely retiring. Then, I will use the XXX company's modified operating system.

In other terms, down or out with Microsoft.

WOW I didnt see there was a new one comming out. I must be living in a cave.

I personaly wouldnt bother with a new OS until it proves to be better.

I remember after win.98 SE there was Windows ME and 2000 and they both sucked.

I remembered being disappointed about buying a new computer with windows 98 SE and a month later they came out with Windoes ME, I was upset that I didnt have the latest OS.
I am now happy that I never got that one. My aunt and 2 other friends got that one back then and go rid of it as they has nothing but problems with it.

                          XP works for me.
