It shouldn't matter if it is wireless. I have a wireless sharing on 3 computers and each computer can see each other on the network. My main PC is hardwired to the router but the others are all wireless.
The biggest and most popular reason for problems is make sure any firewalls is configured properly. As a test, turn them of temporily to see if a connection is made.
Also, when running the network wizard it is important to select "residential gateway" as the connection to the internet. It only seems to work for me if I select that option.Comment

I done that....I had windows vista installed on laptop and it showed up on the main computer but I went back to windows xp pro cause vista kept loosing my wireless signal and now everything works fine again but home networkComment

what's the OS for the main computer? Have you run the network setup wizard on it again since changing the laptop? You have to dot every I and cross every T with this networking. All kinds of things can confuse it.
Windoze firewire bridges are the ones I hate most.Comment

• Add a new user-defined application
Allow all applications (DMZplus mode) – Set the selected computer in DMZplus mode. All inbound traffic, except traffic which has been specifically assigned to another computer using the “Allow individual applications” feature, will automatically be directed to this computer. The DMZplus-enabled computer is less secure because all unassigned firewall ports are opened for that computer.Comment
