I have gone with the AVG virus protection and the ZoneAlarm firewall but I am trying Windows Defender for now.

I deleted Nortons using their tool and almost got a clean uninstall. BUT the biggest difference now is the speed of the computer everywhere. Everything is running smoother, not as much accessing to the HD, and best of all: faster internet responses.

I should have done this a year ago instead of paying for N.I.S. ME=>

I would like to thank all ( )who have replied (and all of my co-workers who put in their 2 cents worth) as it is so hard to pick such similiar pieces of software.

is AVG free version coming to an end? someone tells me they are getting a warning when it will expire, or did they install the wrong one? i have the free one on one of mine and have not noticed yet, but it's been a while since i've updated it, thought it was automatic.

AVG 7.1 will discontinue on 1/15/07. However I got a message on mine and there is a download for AVG 7.5 free that you can download now. Instructions are given. I took the download and made the upgrade about two days ago. Everything is working well. It also has a download for a 30 day firewall with full functions. After the 30 days it reverts to minimal protection with an option to buy at anytime. Enjoy. snagel
