i got a pc off my mate and it used to run the monitor off the agp card but it doesn't have it in now and the monitor can't pick the signal up, can i reset the settings by doing something else as i can't see what i am doing. would taking the CMOS battery out for abit do the trick or not?

"no signal" can indicate many possibilities (to name the more obvious) :
- faulty vid card or socket.
- faulty/damaged or wrong cable (vid card to mon)
- faulty or damaged slot on m/board (if not an onboard vid)
* check cable pins are straight/not missing/bent/broken on plug/socket.
* make sure the cable is correct type for that monitor.
* check if slot pins aren't damaged.
unlikely the monitor is faulty, but not impossible.Comment
