I reinstalled Windows XP yesterday and I have been adding software from discs and downloading as well. Today I started getting these messages. When I click okay on one, another pops up. I ran Spybot and CCleaner. They took care of any problems, but I am still getting these messages. Are they for real or are they pop-up ads? I can't tell.

the trojan could have come from a web exploit when you connected to the internet
always load sp2 at least before surfing
any downloaded programs from p2p are suspect
they are putting these malware files in installers
to be safe download trojanhunter and the definition update
disconnect from internet, stop any unknown processes
run the updated trojanhunterLast edited by Chewy; 21 Dec 2006, 12:07 PM.Comment

@ soup and benbryant - I also tried your suggestions. I have not had a message since I ran both the One Care and X-Cleaner. Thanks!
Thank you Chewy for the Trojan Hunter, and for the Power User Setup which I used after reinstalling windows.
