Yes but Chewy, you're the burner expert, any burner will burn DVDs, but does it support bitsetting etc... and will it break in a little over a year like my Samsung did?

you old samsung was a bad model(not terrible)

lg and the new samsung's are safer bet, but you just have to buy one and see

a year of hard work is a lot for a dvd burner, if you get several hundred good burns, you can't complain, what do you expect fort 30$

Is the cheapest Samsung with free shipping good?

I do recall that Samsung drives don't support Nero's Disc Quality... but do I need that feature?

I was just comparing the LiteOn and the Samsung, the LiteOn apparently is a lot louder, and the drive I have now is loud enough, the Samsung apparently sucks at LightScribe, but I can't see myself using that because I have a DVD printer.

So which one would you guys reccomend? And LOL I was gonna buy the LG but Newegg changed its deals on me!

You can tweak the registry to enable Disk Quality.

If you want a quiet drive, the Samsung is really quiet, mine is anyway.
