        @Night

All you have to do is right click and save the image and then upload it here to use it in your sig.

A lot of software are written so that you need admin rights to run it, which is really somewhat of a bad programming practice. Luckily (or unluckily), Windows' default user account is an admin status account, so most people won't notice anything (just like they won't notice when malware gets installed into the system).
Thats what I though to at first.

Hey People. Loco hit me up with a link and requests for Kabu's and NighTran's sigs. (Kabu take your pic - i did the shortened one cos that's how Loco mentioned your name in the PM).

I'll PM you both, incase you don't get them here.

@Dan: The sig was originally mine

            Hehe

Btw, if anyone else would like a sig, then PM me; don't want this thread turning into sig requests.

Regarding the first post. Am I missing something?? Wouldn't it be a good thing to have certain software only downloadable by a user with admin rights??

So that not every Tom, Nick, and Sherrie will download crap on your PC if they happen to or you allow them to use your system?? Or am I misunderstanding the whole first question??

                Hi folks,

@ MikeyBK ... me and my brother are the only one who messes with this computer ... so no risk of junk being downloaded (well, ... may be ... ).

I personally DO NOT like programs that ...

                1) It is not "Self-Contained". Meaning all the needed applications and programs are not within IT'S OWN folder ... and taps other folder and other freeware. And there are few out there ...

                2) Can't stand programs that need Admin Rights.

                3) Programs that kicks you to Internet everytime that you want to use it.

                4) Shareware or Demoware that has "Expired" trial time and yet they keep Advertising.

                Thanks,
                G!

                  1) There are some great programs that does that as well, so it's not that bad of a thing is it?

                  2) If it's only you and your brother on the system, and both of you probably have admin rights, it's not even an issue is it?

                  3) One word for you.....Firewall...

                  4) If it's trial is expired, why would you still have the program on your system??

                    Hi MikeyBK,

RE: #4 ... one time we unistalled a Trial program and said "yes" to all and heck it removed even some of our shared/original docs under System32 and we had to reload the original applications ... so now we just opt to leave the junk alone since we have a large C: drive and it can take more apps in it.

BTW, thanks for "Firewall" suggestion ... actually got one.

                    Thanks,
                    G!
