I have a lite on LH-20A1H and have had no probs but then I am just learning the diff

I didn't have a clue that burners were so different

I know they say it's one of the fastest burners you can buy and it seems to get good reviews

You need something like a Samsung to go with the NEC. The NEC is a fast reader but has trouble with scratched/old disc sometimes.

i am extremely sorry to bother you again with this issue but is it possible that my ide cable or power cable is bad the reason i ask is i had the sony that went bad was on top set as master and my lite bottom as slave which i never had probs with gave me 2 coasters out of 3 burns last night when i put it on top and set to master i put my samsung dh-162c as slave

buy a new cable, test each drive hooked up as master(jumpered) all by itself

connect power to the shortest lead all by itself

make sure dma is on and you are using good media and burn slow
