RECYCLE BIN Asked Me If I Want To Delete WINDOWS

I got something strange. I went into my Recycle Bin to delete the rubbish and when I went to do it, I got this message that follows in the image.

What caused that? Is it safe for me to delete the contents in my Recycle Bin even though parts of Windows is invisible in there? Parts of Windows must be in there because that question appeared and it detected parts of Windows. This is worrying stuff. If I delete my Recycle Bin I might mess-up my PC.

    Please help.

    Many thanks.

    Darren.

I did. Parts of Windows must be invisible. The message must know what's there.

      Many thanks.

Did you name another folder/file "windows" at some time & then throw it away?

this happens to me once and a while. kind of scary - i know. it's a glitch of some kind. something can't be seen. re-start your PC then try emptying the recycle bin.

Not scary LT - funny. If my mother-in-law called me with this question, I would say, oh, sure you can delete that

@soup - checking the box is great if ya don't make a boo boo and won't need a second chance or don't wanna try to recover it with some software. The shift/delete da Chewster mentioned is great if you are sure you do want to delete something and won't need to get it outta the trash
