    Vista OS questions and help!!!

Well I am no expert for the Vista OS but I have run just about any retail program you may have including antivirus programs as well as anti spyware programs.

I have also used Vlite to remove components of Vista that I have no use for such as bit defender I replaced that with Kaspersky internet security suite.
with vlite you can customize vista to run on your system even with only 512mbs of ram and have it run quite nicely.

All of my tests have been run on the 32 bit platform if you have a 64 bit os I have had many problems reported with compatiblity issues drivers ect. ect. not to mention burning apps.

I have sucessfully run all of the major free ware burning programs on Vista
I would like to be able to tell you which ones but I can not ,do to the new rules but I can say this much the major ones all work hehehe!!

I have found as a general rule most of my programs well 75% of them even though they have not been Vista certified that I had on XP will run without a hitch.

Well I am here to help all that need it and I will do my best to do so.

lets get this Vista thread under way!!

As much as people have issues with Vista right now, I personally have not really had any bad experiences with it yet, aside from a few apps needing upgrading and a couple of drivers as well, its been running damn good for me. I'm sure as more people step into Vista this thread will become quite popular.

As for this forum as a whole, it will survive and flourish, if for no other reason then to advenge those that hurt it.......

I love Xp pro but I can tell you this Vista may have a few bugs to work out but I love it I use it as My primary OS every day even for most of my burning applications..............and the search function in vista is awesume and very fast.
I have also noticed between XP PRO and the ultimate Vista that My internet is much faster why I am not sure but I know it is because I am running a dual boot OS.

              Cheers!!

Yes well, I love it too only problem as found out by many lap top users with Vista OS, having Aero enabled drains the battery real fast. I am tempted to diable it but no Aero no Vista for me. Those who reluctantly shift to vista was missing the boat!

I tested Vista for a bit, and while I didn't think it deserved some of the flak it was getting, IMO it was nothing to get excited about, nor anything to pay so much for (AU$450 for Home Premium, $750 for Ultimate, plenty higher than US prices).

That is a very high price compared to the usa and it is not cheap here either but I still do not regret spending 359.00 to upgrade to the new Vista OS I love it!!JMO

There's so much ado about incompatibility issues before but all the programs I needed was all running perfectly, Canon printer iP5000 with compatible driver, Nero 7, Roxio 9, Adobe family(photoshop 5, elements 3, reader 8, acrobat 8, distillers 8), Ad-aware se plus, Norton Internet security 2007 (free upgrade from v2006), Word web, firefox, Microsoft office 2007, Microsoft works 8.5, etc.. But i must admit no installed ripper, ie Shrink etc. on my Pavilion notebook running Vista as I do it all in My desk Top PC. No problems yet to talk about microburn, sorry!

I've been on it a few weeks now. I began to like it once I turned off the stuff that flickers, thrashes my HD for no good reason etc.. I swear they shuffled the settings around in Control Panel just to piss people off!!!

Other than the user interface, seems like the file transfer is vastly improved. I have a 2 machine Lan with router and Belkin switch and it was a real pain to hotkey to the other machine to "push" a file in a shared folder across the Lan, then hotkey back. With Vista on one machine I can just "pull" the file I want from the shared folder without the hotkey jumps. Plus the background file transfers seem very smooth. Just wish I had a 1000 mbps Lan instead of 100.

I would just give it a little bit of time microburn, I think this thread will get some good use. I personally still use XP Pro but follow as much info on Vista as I can, because good or bad, Vista is the future when it comes to Windows.

TWEAK VI is suppose to be a great tweaking tool for Vista. Especially since it is not user friendly for Power Users, or so I have read.
