      This stand looks awesome!

She loves the stand and it seems to help somewhat.

I have always used AMD, so for Celeron it is new to me, but I am told it runs hotter.

Below is the sensor report. CPU 79C, Is that too hot or am I concerned over nothing?

This is after 2 hours of being on with the stand 45 Degrees.

These are the computer specs if that helps

      --------[ Sensor ]------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

      Sensor Properties:
      Sensor Type HDD

      Temperatures:
      CPU 72 °C (162 °F)
      Hitachi HTS541060G9AT00 42 °C (108 °F)

      Thanks Everyone

79C is too hot, that's why I wouldn't use a laptop for any intensive application, try to give it a little boost with some cooler air

You have to understand that laptops weren't designed for anything intensive,
        just small size.

          Thanks for the confirmation.

Best Buy Geeks said it was normal, but I felt the was overboard.

I had a feeling that was too hot. On the positive side, The stand did have a dramatic effect in the HDD however.

Curious, Can you custom build laptops like you can desktops?

nope, but you can feed them lots of cooler air, try to optimize them also,
remember they are lame by design no matter what the cpu is

a proper "smokin" core(s) takes a 1-2 lb fan/heat sink to handle the heat

a $10 small room fan might work wonders

Not to hijack this thread, but I've just realized that my laptop has been folding nonstop for about 6 days. So I downloaded speedfan...I didn't think it was too hot chewy, what do you think? It is sitting on a table with a table cloth on it when it's not in my lap.

Most of those places tell you what you want to hear. But that is way too hot period.
