get some 16x dvd+r verbatim and bitsett them to dvd-rom, burn with imgburn at 8x

if those scan over 90 and then the player doesn't like them, the player is bad, brand new or not

Hate to say it. But I went back to my old Sony DRU 510A burner, got a 93 score and it played flawlessly in my home DVD player. The 165 might be a good burner but if it doesn't burn sufficiently for my home players then it's pretty useless to me.

Guess I'll burn a couple other movies and see if the same thing happens. Once again, sorry for hijacking the thread. Thanks for the info. I'm good for now.

It's disconnected right now but when I bought it, I thought I made sure it had the latest fm. But I will investigate that and make sure I have the latest. Thanks.

                Thanks Chew,
I just picked up a new computer last night. (OK used but new to me)

It was built by a collage kid at UWM, I am adding a 3rd HD to it and a DVD burner as it only has a DVD rom and CD burner in it.

I have to find that NEC I have packed in a box to trow on my son's pc so I am back up to 3 computers again.

I may need your help with installing some of that later in a new thread.
I bought that burner for now though.
                Thanks for your input.

don't overload it with too many extra drives, make sure the power supply is adequate

Just learning more and more how to do that.

I have always dated computer geeks in the past the built computers for me. Or my buddy that does that on the side. LOL

I learned how to change my burners though LOL

I have the basic Ideal but I dont know enough about everything to know what works with what when building from the ground up. I have sort of with help from someone that knew what was what.

I figure this way its already built just needs a few upgrades that I can do.

He showed me where the slot was to put that PC CARD|ROSEWILL PCI RC-200 however I am not sure what that hooks up to on the motherboard that is where I may need your help when it arrives.

I am going to attempt to change a network card in my other pc today.
I am thinking that cant be that hard.

I just spent an afternoon last week rebuilding 2 older computers with my eldest daughter,
her younger brother built his first one 7 years ago, she wasn't interested in anything but boys, art and theater back then.

She got the cram course from square one in 4 hours.

Important, I let her do everything, even if it took longer

we even had a install cd fail to work until we changed out an old 40 conductor cable

                                Hi folks,

@ Huskerfan ... are you using "ImgBurn" to make your burns!?!?

I suggest you use 2 step burning ... make the .ISO first then burn using ImgBurn at NO FASTER than 8X.

Post back your result with this routine.

                                G!
