I am trying to edit electrical schematics, & I need to be able to draw squares, rectangles, triangles & various other shapes. Is there a "good" way of doing this using GIMP? So far all I have been able to do is create them freehand using the mouse, & that is just not turning out so good...
Creating shapes with GIMP?

Hi UncasMS,
Nice link....except I can't get GIMP to behave properly. I am able to create the shape, but for some reason, I am unable to get the color fill to work. Most likely PEBKAC. I will keep working at it. It seems odd that they would make this program so "non-intuitive"... mostly everything I do with GIMP seems very convoluted.Comment

Yea, gimp takes some getting used to.I do love Gimp 2.4 it has a lot of cool new features
I haven't been able to use it or Photoshop much because my mouse is going nuts(it makes masking a PITA).It's been like the for almost 3 months, every time I go to get one I spend my money on a movie instead
I can't find it right now, but I think there is a script or plugin that creates basic shapes for gimp
EDIT
Here it is
It goes here
C:\Program Files\GIMP-2.0\share\gimp\2.0\scriptsLast edited by BR7; 26 Feb 2008, 12:51 PM.Comment
