Help my pc died ... almost

i just came back home frm work and found my pc was not working and 2 front lights were on. i never shut my pc off so it was strange, i removed the cables and remove a ram module and checked and it works......

inshort i have 4 ram modules... totaling 3 gb ram ddr2 667 all kingston

now only 3 at a time working, if i put 4th system wont start.....
checked all 4 seperatly one by one and they work.

is it one particular ram slot that does not work anymore on your mainboard?

yes it does.
system= optiplex 745


im using same ram modules all four on same system for last few months
they were fine this morning when i go work.... but on my return, my pc was still on but unresponsive and no screen... and front 2 diagonostic lights were on. 3 and 4

i just removed one ram module and pc starts again. have checked all ram modules one by one all works..
3 at atime are working not 4.

sounds like a power issue, 4 sticks takes more than 3

if you can't adjust the memory voltage then your power supply maybe weak

hopefully iv solved it...
asked friend to lend me his 1 gb stick, he has 2 1 gb 800 bus dims.

kept shuffling until i found my 1 gb stick is not working with others.
now system is again running fing all 3 gb with
2*512 kingston and
2*1024 kingston+corsair [800 in 667 mode]

now can i safely assume my motherboard is just fine and have no issues with the memory slots or the board... ?
