I forgot about GoogleTalk w/Gmail. I have it. Installed it after you suggested it soup. Looks like not too many crazy about the Gmail Notifier or Gmail Manager even though it shows thousands of downloads per week.

@ed I have no idea what you're talking about w/that full header thing and the spam's internet service provider. I'll Google it I guess.

Any of you use that Spam Assassin from Thunderbird? I don't get any spam anyway, but was curious about it. I don't have it enabled.

I was thinking about just using Gmail and their server instead of having mail going directly to my pc. Any of you walk on the side of caution and do that? Or maybe paranoia is a bit much to totally scratch out E-mail clients?

I got use to getting my replies from the forum and elsewhere to my pc and replying back so I'm on the fence w/letting go of Thunderbird. Even though I could do the same w/Gmail, but w/a slight different interface.

Anyone experience any conflicts w/Mozbackup? They warn against any when you go download it. Guess lot of proggies do that. What Add-ons besides No Script and Ad Block Plus that are pretty stable and deemed an asset do you guys have? Thnx.
    SAMSUNG SH-S203B, SAMSUNG SH-S223F,

Take the suggestions and follow the directions. The results will speak for themselves.

When I have nothing better to do, I like to go back to the internet service provider who sent me the spam mail and complain.

Full headers is where you find the e-mail address and all the e-mail routes, so you can identify the address of the internet service provider. Usually located in the from location. ALSO, THE INTERNET SERVICE PROVIDER NEEDS THIS INFORMATION SENT TO THEM TO GET BACK TO THEIR CLIENT.

Sometimes full headers are coded with numbers for the e-mail address in that case you can go to ARIN WHO IS to identify the e-mail address. Yahoo used to code them with numbers now they use plain e-mail address.

The fun part comes in when the spams internet service provider sends you a e-mail back telling you they are looking into the problem with there e-mail client and will take the appropriate action. Most internet service providers don't want their clients to send out spam and junk mail so they do look into the problem.

If I figure I am going to get a lot of mail, (NCIX, Newegg.CA etc), I give my gmail account. Normal amount will go to my e-mail & the throwaway is Yahoo. Didn't enable Spam Assasin either.

Checked last night after posting & apparently I don't have a throwaway anymore. Does Yahoo shut it down for non use?

After a while yes they do. They prolly did you a favor anyway. LOL...

How safe are any of these e-mail clients anyway? Whether a client like outlook or Thunderbird, or a web based one like Gmail? The difference I see is that w/the clients on your pc or w/e any malicious intent goes straight to your pc. The web based e-mail proggies have different concerns. They could access anything you saved on there that would render personal info and put you at risk.
Gmail's fun. Only thing lacking is the option on how quick you want it to access your isp e-mail or any other. I'm used to the fast replies on Thunderbird as I have it set to check every min. We're so spoiled these days w/all this speed and technology aren't we. I mean if Gmail takes a lil longer than so what. Unless I need immediate help it's ok if I reply w/any results a lil later.
