    Vista Running Slow

I fell for a phishing email and two days later my PC basically shut down. So I reinstalled Vista (Home Premium) and even now, it is running strangely. It tells me I don't have enough memory to run my programs. But when I reinstalled, I installed it on the 160 gig drive, not the 10 gig drive. What is going on? Any ideas?

Yeah. If you could and can just install some version of XP and let everyone else play w/Vista until Billy Boy comes out w/Windows 7 or w/e. Then MS will have Vista pretty much figured out and you could run it until they stop supporting it, or you upgrade to 7, and start the whole process all over. XP Home supported untill 2010 or so.

I'm not at all at the top in regards to computer genius, but I dodged this one. Lol...

So sorry you guys, here's the "yadda yadda" part ...

            Dell XPS
            Intel 6600 Dual Core @ 2.4 GHz
            32 Bit Vista Home Premium
2046 RAM with a 160 gig Hard Drive

I will have a browser open and be working with a couple of fractal programs and I will get an Error Message. It took me a while to get back to you because I am trying to recreate the error message. Does this help a bit?

apophysis 2.08 looks like this program's error / compatibility then vista error

try uninstalling + deleting folder and re installing

clean ur all temp folders, delete prefetch just in case

It'll be under the windows folder in program files. Also just check off prefetch in Ccleaner and that should do some if not all of the deleting. Good thing to do in addition to any folders for any proggies in application data. Then go to regedit and delete rest of the program files in ?.

Thnx. It was great. Mom went all out on the food. 2 sisters came by and my friend and wife came over also. I better relax reading all these posts and even answering some or I'll be spending more on my cc than I did on X-mas.

Do you run out of memory with any other combination of apps?
IOW, if this program isn't running? Since it's a beta maybe it
                            has a memory leak.

                              Hi Kabu,

good to see you agian even if the matter isnt that good for you.

could you provide us with some information on what your taskmanager actually states?
is the system really low on mem or slow or is it just this one application not working properly?

could you make a screenshot of your taskmanager showing something like mine does?

this very moment i run the following applications:
                              - firefox (one tab here at DD)
                              - thumbsplus
                              - digital photo pro
                              - total commander
                              - taskmanager
