xp has a problem with activation

Xp is indicating that it is already activated. Now it will continuously ask you to activate XP. You are not able to log in to windows or in to safe mode. It is stuck in a continuous activation loop. I have put the drive in a external drive case, but the drive does not show up as an active drive. Is there a program that I can use to open up the drive and move data off the drive. Thanks in advance.

make urself a windows live cd, google and ull get to know how to make one..

second option would be to get pre build distro of any linux live cd and use that to save ur stuff....

ofcourse using windows live cd will be easier as u know how it goes...
another option is to use acronis rescue disk, iv used it on my friends pc, he doesnt had anything but this cd i used acronis backup files option to save his data on dvd and then restore later.

Well I was working on the system and the motherboard dumped. I was in the process trying to fix the hard drive. So I do not know if the hard drive is readable any more. Earlier I hit the local tiger direct and bought a MSI AM2 motherboard and 4 gigs of corsair memory. Also got 5200 dual core AMD CPU. The motherboard was $49.00 and the cpu was $65.99. They were out of the 5000 series cpu which was $50.00. After the rebate the memory will be $24.99. I am in the process of zeroing out the hd and starting from scratch. I will play around with the windows like cd. I do have acronis that is also a posibility.

I had the same problem which was caused by Malware. I ran malwarebytes and it fixed it up.
