Best sensor program for new pc?

    Hi All,

For Christmas I received parts for my first build.

Everything is going well except I can not seem to get a temp. sensor reading from Everest.

I only get the HDD and thats it.

Is there another program I should be using?

    Thanks in advance.

    Happy New Year

have you installed all necessary mainboard drivers?

everest should do the job unless it really cannot find any sensors which i doubt in your case very much

the logfile doesnt even report the proper cpu or a gpu temp for your 9600gt

your everest version is 2.20x which is not what we call up-2-date - it dates back to 2005!

i'm running 4.2x here and 4.6x is the latest - get yourself a new version

apart from everest you could try HWMONITOR or SIW

      Hi folks,

@ Burrell ... I see you are running Vista ... even if you are on 64-bit ... use the HWMonitor 32-bit ... for some reason the 64-bit will not display the Temps for the GPU.

Also another good software to have around from CPUID is the "PC Wizard" ... it gives your entire System info to the T ....

CPUID brings you system & hardware benchmark, monitoring, reporting quality softwares for your Windows & Android devices

@ UncasMS ... What other software from GTopala do you recommend besides the SIW!?!?

      Thanks,

      G!

        Thanks for the tips.

Seems my Everest was too old for this board.

It is funny how they all have a little different sensor reading. All seem safe, but when push comes to shove which one should I trust?

        Thanks again!!

          Hi Burrell,

If you are interested in knowing Your TEMPS ... I would definitely use teh "HWMonitor" ... you see alll of your important temps on the fly ...
          Like CPU, GPU, HDD ...

I kind of also like PC Wizard ... to me gives you more detail than Device Manager ... but it might get confused on your CPU ... like in my laptop case ... I have a T5750 and it reports it as T7200 ... both a 2.0GHz Intel ...but T7200 has bigger Cache and therefore slightly faster ...

Gotta go grab a bite ... I am starved!
