Since the move I have no idea where the disc with the motherboard drivers are, is there a way to find out without the pc able to boot what mother board I have. I know it is a GIGABYTE / AMD I have no way to run everest to find out that way. Any help would be wonderful.
IS THERE a way to get into a screen that will show my mother board model?

Hit del key or the F1 key as soon as you power up the PC. That should get you into the BIOS setup.Star Baby Girl, Born March,1997 Died June 30th 2007 6:35 PM.Comment

The first screen that pops up is ususally for the video card, then the BIOS screen pops up next. That is the way at least it does here.Star Baby Girl, Born March,1997 Died June 30th 2007 6:35 PM.Comment

Thanks to all that replied I .... after many hours and a few days of attempting to get that pc up again. I threw in the towl and pulled the HD put in a brand new one and loaded windows clean start. My first time loading an OS to a new blank HD and so far everything seems to be running just fine. KNOCK ON WOOD.
But not to worrie I will have more questions and more beating me head into a wall as I try to get my other 3 computer that no longer work up and running again.Comment

one thing i recently built and use wonderfully, is windows xp live cd, my office computer got some virus / rootkit, avast finds it and deletes and then restarts but after that nothing happens it came back with restart. so i use live cd and deleted the files manually but after restart it came back, so i check msconfig and found one entry in startup but that is not in regedit run anywhere. hmm, so i again use live cd and deleted that file in system32 folder after restart system all fine.Seems like as soon you buy somehing, v. 2 comes out 1.5 times as fast!..!Comment
