    Can Somebody Please Help me With This - Cyberlink Power Director Express

    I removed my question because this site can't hold an image anymore in a message. Typical. This has happened to me before a few times. I'm moving on elsewhere.

      I added the image to show an error and it always goes where there's an oblong with a red cross at the top.

      I'll try my message another way. What is happening is this. When I use Cyberlink Power Director Express, either when I'm adding footage to the video strip, when I'm editing or when I click on Produce to save my movie in a video file, I get this message. http://img144.imagevenue.com/img.php...PG&loc=loc1178 Of course, when I click on OK the software closes before I get a chance to save my project. Sometimes when I save it before the error appears but only with a Cyberlink Power Producer Express icon, when I want to load my project up it's mostly corrupted.

      I've used this software for a long time with no problems until when I had to format and after the format, something is causing this. I believe the PDX file is the fault. I've re-installed this software many times as well and rebooted in-between to enable the uninstallation. I could remove all the remaining files and folders because I got a message saying deleting, moving or modifying can cause other programs not to work properly.

      Many thanks.

        Since you have a runtime error, that could be caused by a number of things, I would use something like revo uninstaller and do a very thorough removal of the program, then re-install and then make sure that I added any updates that the program wanted. This should fix the problem.

        If not, then I would delete the folders on my computer associated with Cyberlink (unless you have several Cyberlink programs) and try once again. This error could be another program, virus, DLL, etc.

        I don't know your programs or machine but normally I would not worry about message, and go ahead and remove the files.

          What was the error message you got when trying to post an image (are you actually posting a link to an image, or actually uploading one?).

            dazuk1972: Can you actually just repeat what you did before and post the image, so I can see what went wrong?

            You should be able to link to an image or to post an image using the attachment function, there's nothing that prevents you from doing it, at least there shouldn't be.

              Many thanks for the info. Will Revo touch any other software that I don't want it to? I'm worried about that.

              About deleting the folder under Program Files as well, I can't do that because I get a warning saying if I delete, move or modify anything there it can cause other programs not to work properly. Of course, I don't want to damage other software even though I don't know what damaged Cyberlink Power Director Express. All I did was installed it the way I did before.

              Many thanks.

                Here's the link. http://img144.imagevenue.com/img.php...PG&loc=loc1178 I don't know why I copied and pasted version fails after a short while. When you click on it, you might see a page with a load of junk on the screen. Ignore that and click on the link at the top left-hand corner of the screen that says Continue To Your Image with a countdown. My error message follows.

                Many thanks.

                  Here's another attempt of copying and pasting the error message as an image. IT sometimes stays for a little bit and goes.

                    When I try to get the code for the image, I got a different set of code to what you posted:

                    PHP Code:
                    [URL=http://img144.imagevenue.com/img.php?loc=loc1178&image=30205_re_122_1178lo.JPG][IMG]http://img144.imagevenue.com/loc1178/th_30205_re_122_1178lo.JPG[/IMG][/URL]
                    This is the code you posted:

                    PHP Code:
                    [URL="http://img144.imagevenue.com/img.php?image=30205_re_122_1178lo.JPG&loc=loc1178#"][IMG]http://img144.imagevenue.com/aAfkjfp01fo1i-16238/loc1178/30205_re_122_1178lo.JPG[/IMG][/URL]
                    In particular, it's this image link that you posted that's broken (gives me a page not found error):

                    I also got some porn ads when browsing the imagevenue.com site. You might want to try imageshack.us, this is the one that I use more often than not, or even using the forum's built-in attachment upload function (you can upload JPGs up to 500 KB, which with compression set to 15%, should allow you to upload huge images).

                      Many thanks. I was going to use that method but I wasn't sure what link to chose.

                      About the porn AD's, I know what you mean, they are annoying. You also have to be careful because some sites detect your e-mail address with those AD's and they e-mail porn junk mail.

                      By the way, I found out something with my problem, it seems that everything that I ripped from my DVD's with Magic DVD Ripper, they cause the Runtime Error. This is home movie ripping by the way where I want to re-edit footage.

                        ImageShack works great, not that many ads on it either.

                        As for your problem, why are you using a DVD ripper to rip a home made DVD? Can't you just copy the files over through Windows Explorer, or just open the file straight from the DVD in PowerDirector Express? I haven't used the Express version of PowerDirector, but in the full version, I just load the file from the DVD (non encrypted, of course) and it gets added to the assets after PowerDirector converts it to a format that it likes internally.

                        If you really want things to go smoothly, then converting the DVD (or the section you want to edit) first to say AVI or some other common format might make it more compatible with PowerDirector.
