Why should i use ImgBurn instead of DVDD

I'm probably missing something obvious here, but as i'm a newbie !

DVD Decrypter will presumably still be used by people (who already have it) to do the decrypting. It can also do the burning.

So, why do we need to install ImgBurn to do the burning when DVDD does it already.

I suspect i'm missing something here

So in your opinion, is it definitely worth the switch. At the moment DVDD does all I need, but if ImgBurn is better I will change. (I am always wary about swapping to new products - if it ain't broke don't fix it etc)

These forums are certainly a great help to me and i often feel silly posting simple questions but so far they've all been answered - hope all your patience is not wearing a little thin

That's the point i am trying to make. I get the impression that everyones about to switch to ImgBurn and if there's a good reason for me to do so then i will switch also. What i am wondering is whether there is a good reason. There probably is on a technical level, but i don't understand all the techie stuff

I bought Nero 6 about a month before they offered the free upgrade to Nero 7. If the upgrade is worth it I'll probably go for it. I am going to try all the burning options before settling in on one.

rsclark, I'll switch because I use PgcEdit quite often and r0lZ has made it painfully clear that he prefers Imgburn now, and I respect his judgement.

His preference was based on legal grounds - particularly for users in Germany.

This is not to say IB is not a great burning program. I fully endorse it.

same here, should be released approximately October 13, with blu-ray and hd dvd burning

hope they have re-designed 'nero startsmart', the interface is so damn ugly and sluggish that i could never bring myself to use it

That's true. I only use it to look for new updates.

What i want to know before i make the switch from DVD decrypter is IF and when ImgBurn can automatically decrypt the DADC's ARccOS.

Never. ImgBurn burns images. Nothing more, nothing less.

Why not use both of the burning tools. Since LIGHTING UK is the author of both.

Depending on the mood I am in when I am ready to burn the ISO image determines which one I will use Decrypter ISO write or Imgburn.

Granted as time go on, Imgburn will take over where Decrypter ISO write left off.

Good to keep hands on practice on both.
