    Media Incompatible Error

    Hello Everyone,

I am new at this so please forgive my ignorance. I have a SONY DVD RW DRU510A Burner and I used ImgBurn to create DVDs successfully. The DVDs I was using were Memorex DVD+R. I ran out of those DVDs and went out and got myself some new FUJIFILM +R Blank discs. However, when I try to burn an image on those, ImgBurn says the following:

    I/O Error!

    Device: [0:0:0] SONY DVD RW DRU-510a 1.0c (G(1394)

    ScsiStatus: 0x02
    Interpretation: Check Condition

And the ImgBurn Log is as follows:

Have you checked to see if there is an update to the firmware for your burner?

        Welcome to the forum

Those fuji disks are a brand new mid code,

definitely try the firmware update, but if it doesn't work, try to find some 8x
media, those disks(16x) are decent media from the scans at the link I found.

Since new dvd burners are so cheap, I would save those blanks for when you upgrade.

                Problem still exists

I tried the firmware update suggested by benbryant and re-tried with two separate discs to make sure I was not dealing with bad media. It still did not work. So, I am guessing Chewy's advice about keeping these discs around for the future and getting myself some others for now is the one to follow. Any suggestions on which media I should get that would work with this drive and with the current firmware i.e. 1.1a?

I upgraded to SONY DVD RW DRU510A 1.1a firmware and had problems burning DVDs. So after about 7 failed DVDs, I downgraded to 1.0d and everything works great!

Here is the link for 1.0d:
