Please Help with +RW erasing

Hi!

I've got a new PX-755A DVD-recorder, so I wasn't expecting problems with it, but when I try to erase my disk(Verbatim DVD+RW), it just does not do it. It ejects the tray, Nero gives me an Unexpected Recording Error, DVD Decrypter gives me a window with lot of infos, so I try to copy this in.



Anyone got any idea what this means? What does Write Protected mean?? It has files on it, I got it from my friend, I just want to burn my files on it to give this back to him. I checked with DVD Decrypter the disk's code, if it's an unsupported one, but according to Plextor's website it is! The code is MCC-A01-00 according to the program and it's consistent with Plextor's reccommendations. The drive is Secondary Master, Secondary channel also got a Slave, which is another Plextor CD-recorder.

Anyone who knows the answer for this problem please help me out...

Hi and welcome to the forum, Hix3r!

You could try to erase it with www.imgburn.com instead. It's more updated than DVD Decrypter.

If that don't work - post the burning log.

Well I tried with ImgBurn, same window popped up, that I linked in my original post. Burning log is this, if it is helpful:

Well, I don't see anything unusual except for the Error part .
If you can think of any solution please don't hesitate!

Is it a new RW disc or has it been around for a while?

How is your firmware? Up to date? Might be the drive don't like the blanks - even Verbatim ones.

Well I Don't know much about the disk, I think it isn't that old, I can't see any scars on it or any other physical causes. But some files are on it, so I guess it has been used couple of times. The first thing was the firmware update actually. It's now got the latest 1.05 firmware, but the problem is still present. I'm thinking of a disk problem, because the drive itself is a brand new one, my other recorder a PX-716A was malfunctioning so I got this drive for the last one, so it's brand new. I really hope it's not a drive malfunction, because then I must say Plextor drives are unreliable, and I don't want to do that. How can I verify if it's a disk problem without trying it in other recorders? Is there a diagnostic program for checking disks?

Ner0 CD Scan or DVD Info Pro. Do a scan disk and you'll see.

I've had that happen before - somehow I screwed it up on a burn and it never work again

Doing a full erase in ImgBurn would not give you exactly the same error box as posted in the first post (it doesn't send and 'Write' commands), please get me a screenshot of that one too.

Well as you asked I did try to Full erase with ImgBurn and I got this. Little difference.



Now do you have an idea of what is happening?

The drive doesn't like (support) the media, you'll have to give up!

So it's now 100% that the problem is with the media? Well than huh, I'm relived... I thought this drive is malfunctioning as well. Thank you!

Another small thing I noticed, not that it's crucial, but whe I insert CD into my CD recorder, a windows pops up infoming me that az empty disk is in, what do I want to do with it. But when I insert a blank DVD into my DVD recorder it's icon in My Computer changes to CD Drive although it has a DVD in it, and no windows pups up informing, that az empty disk is present in the drive. Whe I click twice on the drives icon a warning window tells me this:

G:\ is not accessible.

Incorrect function.

I said it' not so important because I can write the disk with any program, just the OS does this. I happens with blank DVDs, but I only tried this with blank DVD-R, Sony and TDK. Can anyone tell me what causes this? It's just the OS, and another bug, or is this the drive?

verbatim came out with 4x dvd+rw's 2 1/2 years ago so I wouldn't make any judgements based upon that old a disk

plextor probably thought noone was still using 2.4x?
