You can use RipIt4Me to decrypt it,here is a link on how to install it.Once you do all that you will now have DVD Shrink installed and you can use it to compress your DVD-9 to DVD-5.Here is some tutorials on how to use shrink.Or you can check out DVD rebuilder you can find the free version here it does a fantastic job compressing your DVD's you will love the image quality. Now if you don't want to compress it and you want to burn it on Dual Layer Blank Media(Verbatim +R is highly recommended) just use RipIt4Me first then use imgburn in build mode.Last edited by BR7; 26 Oct 2006, 07:03 PM. -
You can also use RipIt4Me in ISO mode. This will make a one for one copy with the CSS encryption removed. Then use ImgBurn to burn the DL disc. The layer break is kept and used by ImgBurn. This is probably the easiest and fastest way to make a backup without compressing the original.
EDIT: But this is the most expensive way as the DL disc are about $2 apiece compared $.25 for a single layer.Last edited by Gary D; 26 Oct 2006, 08:40 PM.Gary D

Try DVDFab Decrypter to rip to HDD first and then continue with DVD Shrink as suggested by BR7. If you rip the movie only using DVDFab Decrypter and remove all audio except AC3 5.1 and any subtitles you don't need while ripping in some cases no compression will be needed so you can skip DVD Shrink and go straight to Imgburn. Here is the guide.

where would the mds file be at? I'm still new to this dvd9 burning stuff, Also after I used rI4M to get the ISO and then use imgburn to burn the ISO file why does it take 45 minutes to test burn and then after it finish it does the real burning auto? is there anyway I can just burn the iso file instead of it doing the test burn and then doing the real burn after it finish?Comment

The MDS file should be located directly below the ISO file....it's just a road map type of a file that tells Imgburn how to burn your DL disc. Untick the "test" option in the burn screen before burning. You can also check your DMA, here is a guide.
