I will definitely go with Verbatim on my next purchase. And I do not have AnyDVD running (in fact, I don't even have that software in my computer). As for the firmware upgrade, Benq's site only have the BCDB version.

Your link has 2 other versions BCHB and BCIB. Before I take the leap of faith, just want to confirm that BCIB should be the one that I pick? (don't want to fry the drive).

I've heard that the HB might be "better" firmware than the IB. But do update from your old firmware.

I've upgraded my firmware to BCHB now. I'll retry "Read" via DVD Decrypter to create the MDS and ISO files again. Then, I'll burn (or make another coaster). Along the lines of DMA, I have 3 hard drives plus a media card reader: 3 Primary IDE Channel, 3 Secondary IDE Channel, 3 Standard Dual Channel PCI IDE Controller. You wouldn't suppose that there might be some conflicts caused by the media card reader would you? Interestly enough, I have the ATI Raedon X600 which has a TV tuner and it works upon restarting the computer. Once close the TV, and relaunch, it says something to the effect of DMA not enabled. But, when I checked the Device Manager, I don't see any PIOS selections. It's all DMA enabled. I just don't know much about computers to troubleshoot this. I'm aging as it is already over burning this one movie.
