IMG burn gets an error and closes now everytime i use it

When I've examined the memory at the location it crashes at, it's the start of the PECompact code. PECompact is the exe compressor tool I'm using.

I will not use it for the next version as it's obviously causing problems for some people!

I am having this same problem....I had to download a new program to burn with because of it!! I have run all kinds of test on it, and I don't know what the problem is..........

Hey! Sorry I didn't get back to you guys until now.

I THINK (but can't be sure) it COULD have been when I updated IMG BURN. I'm not certain. It's either than or a few dozen other things.

I did system restore and took me back to Dec. 1st to a date before I updated IMG BURN and everything works smoothly now. The only other thing I can think would do this is when the trouble started (after I had updated IMG BURN) I got ashampoo to change wmv to mp3's. I dont know though.

I know very little about programs. Once I started to have problems I got a UK burning program from a friend I know in the UK. This made things worse.

It changed ISO files on my computer to something else and i dont know what they were. Then when I came home from vacation set to use the WinDbg thing it got really REALLY bad. I kept crashing and had problems with my anti virus software. All kinds of crap. I then did system restore and ever since then it's been fine.

I'm not going to update anything for a while nor use any UK programs from my friend. Hope this can help you out man! You've got an incredible program just a few bugs.

If you can find a program that will decompress PECompact exe's, the resulting exe should work fine.

As I say, it's just whatever PECompact is doing that's killing things - so far as I can tell.

looks like they and LZMA2 may have gone too far in the compression game, wonder what's the common denominator on the effected systems?

I don't know if it is your decompress program. I don't use that one, I use DVD Shrink. I had a problem with it trying to copy this one movie....I had to download a different program to copy it, which worked. That was the first time I had any problems coping any movie. After that is when I started getting the error messages from Img Burn, and since that happened, it has not worked since. I didn't update any of my programs (unless they did an automatic update that I am not aware of) and I have run severel different virus and spam scans which have not helped....
